Umezawa and Gonzalez Named POTW

Sussex is excited to announce that Seiji Umezawa and Alejandro Gonzalez were named Garden State Athletic Conference Division II Baseball Players of the Week.

Pitcher of the Week – Alejandro Gonzalez
Sussex County Community College's Alejandro Gonzalez was dominant on the mound, tossing a complete game against RVCC on Saturday. He allowed just 3 hits while racking up 10 strikeouts, completely controlling the game from start to finish.

Player of the Week – Seiji Umezawa
Shortstop Seiji Umezawa put together a WEEK to remember. He caught fire against RVCC, highlighted by an incredible cycle in Friday's region showdown, powering the Skylanders offense in every way possible.

From gap shots to extra-base damage, he did it all, helping Sussex roll to a 4–1 week and make a strong statement in GSAC Division II play. This is the second time this season that Umezawa has been named the GSAC Player of the Week.
