The Sussex County Community College women's soccer team extended their unbeaten run to 9 games with a win over the Community College of Rhode Island on Saturday. Sussex were able to overpower the Knights to a 4-0 victory without allowing a single shot on target. Carina Gasparini opened the scoring in the 42nd minute with a great piece of individual pressing to dispossess the CCRI defender and poke home from close range. Giovanna Castro then doubled the lead 5 minutes into the second half after pouncing on a loose ball in the CCRI penalty box. Gasparini would add to the lead less than 5 minutes later after running onto a through ball from Maria Macedo and slotting a fine finish past the Knights' goalkeeper. Castro would cap off the scoring in the 58th minute blasting a shot into the top corner after being set up by Carina Gasparini.
The win brings Sussex's record to 9-1. Up next for the Skylanders is an away trip to Rowan College at Burlington County on October 12.
