The Sussex Men's Basketball team opened their season with a quality 86-71 victory over RCSJ-Gloucester. After trailing 2-0 at the 17:20 mark of the first half, Annario Ware answered with a three from the wing, and the Skylanders never fell behind again. Sussex brought a lot of energy from start to finish, which translated into success on the defensive end. Shawn Morgan, Annario Ware, Brandon Yale, and Haziz Adeshina had 3 steals each - some leading to rim-bruising dunks from Haziz and Annario. Shane Geene added to the defensive effort with 3 blocks.
The offense was led by Annario Ware (23 points, 4 assists) and Brandon Yale (21 points, 6 rebounds). Finishing with 14 team assists, the Skylanders moved the ball well to get good looks. Shawn Morgan chipped in with 15 points and Haziz Adeshina scored 13 points off the bench.
